I am a linguist from Berkeley, California. In March 2025, I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in Language Science and a minor in Italian Studies. At university, my studies focused on sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, corpus linguistics, and phonology. I also studied Italian and Arabic, and participated in an exchange program at the University of Bologna, Italy in 2023.
Alongside my studies, I was a Learning Assistant for both the introductory Italian class and introductory Arabic class at UC Irvine for two years during undergrad. Later, I worked for my Arabic professor in the Global Languages & Communication department, contributing to a grant-sponsored project to digitize course materials for the introductory Arabic classes. In addition to providing a pivotal mentorship opportunity for me, this position helped spark my passion for education and digital communication. I also worked as an undergraduate research assistant for my linguistic anthropology professor, co-developing the methodology for a research project related to typefaces and geospatial analysis.
Today, I work for the Script Encoding Initiative (SEI) at UC Berkeley, providing administrative and logistical support, overseeing special research projects, and advancing SEI’s new enterprises and areas of study. With a passion for advancing language accessibility, I am grateful to promote the digital representation of minority writing systems in my work with SEI.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cooking, puzzles, exercise, and old Japanese cars in my free time.
